摘要
This article provides several reasons for valuing educational research applied and involve to special education, such as description, prediction, and explanation of phenomena. The article portrays several examples about how these aforementioned research reasons have been and can be applied to this matter. Description, prediction, and explanation are important parts of the professional practice in special education and justifications for their use are shown. Even though the present manuscript authors do not take a position on educational policies, they do admit that it would be appropriate for decision makers to take in consideration research results to improve the special education practice.
