摘要
The kinetics of the reactions CO2 + H2O →k1 H2CO2 and HCO2- →k-2 OH- + CO2 were investigated by studying the exchange of oxygen-15 between carbon dioxide and water. The application of the 2-min half-life radioisotope allows the use of very small amounts of carbon dioxide. The exchange can therefore be studied over a wide pH range without addition of buffers which are known to interfere with the reaction rates. The rate constants obtained were slightly higher than the generally accepted values, and it was found that the rate constants are related to temperature by the equations ln (108k1) = 34.69 - 9252/T and ln (106k-2) = 48.08 - 12,720/T.
