The extraction of impurities of alkali and alkaline-earth elements and Pb from HNO3 solutions containing U is studied with the goal of their complete removal. The macrocyclic polyether dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 can be successfully used for quantitative co-extraction of Pb and Sr from nitrate solutions containing U with subsequent separation into the individual components by stripping with water. This can he used to separate radionuclides and determine their content in reprocessing products of irradiated nuclear fuel.
