摘要
We have presented in this paper a theory for adsorption in sorbents with bimodal pore size distribution. Macroporous and microporous diffusions of Fickian type as well as Langmuir adsorption isotherm are assumed in the modelling. The effects of the nonlinearity of the isotherm, the temperature, the particle and microsphere sizes and the bulk phase concentration on the controlling mechanism of the dynamics of the system are investigated. An interesting behaviour concerning the switching in the controlling mechanism with respect to the temperature changes is observed for nonlinear systems. For example, in some cases, microporous diffusion controls the dynamics over the whole temperature range whilst it is not so for linear systems. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
