A recent paper [B.S. Wang et al., Phys. Rev. B 39, 12 789 (1989)] reports results of careful pseudopotential calculations of optical-phonon deformation potentials in GaAs and GaP. We point out that the comparison to other theoretical calculations is complicated due to confusion of notation and definitions. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
