摘要
Transition metal chelates with the schiff base derived from bis(salicylaldehyde)sulphone and benzidine have been prepared and characterized. The chelates are of the type [ML]n (where L is SBBrSAL-BzD; M = Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Mn2+ and Zn2+ and n is the degree of polymerization). Analytical data and electrical, thermal, magnetic and spectral studies indicate that the stereochemistry is square planar around Cu(II), tetrahedral around Co(II) and Zn(II), and octahedral around Mn(II) and Ni(II).
