摘要：
The aim of this paper is to address the quest for health in Rio Grande do Sul the First Republic disseminating studies produced by historiography and documentary sources related to government work in the area of Public Health, within the chronological marker from 1889 to 1930. In addressing the issue, intend to use Foucault's concepts of governmentality and social medicine to analyze ideas and actions Rio-Grandense Republican Party (RRP) for supporting the health of the population.
