Physical Education and High School: for the possibility of mediation between "doing with" and "talking about"

摘要
The article has for a theme the pretension to be like the other school subjects in Brazil - an ambivalence -, which can kill its specificity and, mainly, the legitimacy that students consecrate? It is, therefore, about a paradox with which physical education tries to make a criticism, is involved since the 1980s, and that has taken over traces of a dilemma. In step with such panorama, our goal is to submit scholar physical education to a retrospective and prospective reading, in order to locate clues of origin that may highlight marks in present times, on the difficulties of this subject in materializing itself and to take over legitimacy as a curricular component in High School.
