摘要
A study of growth morphology of titanium nitride whiskers obtained by the CVD method from TiCl4-H2-N2 systems on a substrate of small metallic particles has been carried out. In addition to more than 50% of whiskers with straight rod form, many whiskers of the [111] growth direction with secondary whiskers and crooked whiskers with variant growth directions were observed. Electron diffraction and high resolution lattice imaging analysis showed that all whiskers were single crystal but with different 〈100〉, 〈110〉 or 〈111〉 growth directions in every segment of the whiskers. © 1990.
