摘要
Complexes where the Gd3+ ions are placed in the second coordination sphere of the Tl+ ion are formed in sodium-borate glasses codoped with Tl+ and Gd3+ ions. The energy transfer Tl+ --> Gd3+ proceeds under d-electron excitation of the Tl+ ion in the f-electron collapsed state. It is supposed that the exchange mechanism is responsible for the observed donor-acceptor interaction between Tl+ and Gd3+ ions.
