PARALLEL GARDEN SCREWS FOR INTRACAPSULAR FEMORAL FRACTURES

摘要：
One hundred and eighty-five patients with an intracapsular femoral fracture were prospectively studied and followed up until 1 year after injury. All patients were treated by fixation with parallel Garden screws. Fracture union occurred in 82 per cent of patients. Non-union was more frequent in displaced fractures, when the reduction was inadequate and when the screws were placed superiorly or anteriorly in the femoral head. Neither age nor sex were significantly associated with non-union.
