摘要：
Isobutylene-isoprene rubber (butyl rubbers) and ethylene-propylene diene rubbers (EPDM) have been carboxylated by treatment with maleic anhydride using mercaptobenzthiazole (MBT) as a promoter. The parameters of this chemical modification have been optimized. The blends of NR with the modified rubbers are found to possess better mechanical properties compared to the blends prepared from the unmodified rubbers.
