ADIABATIC CALORIMETER FOR STUDY OF EXOTHERMIC CHEMICAL REACTIONS

摘要
An adiabatic calorimeter developed for the study of the exothermic chemical reactions was used to determine heats of polymerization, perform curing-rate studies, and establish thermal decomposition rates as a function of temperature for high energy propellants. The calorimeter was designed for remote operation in a test cell with the control system located in an adjacent laboratory. The control system was designed to terminate a test automatically after the test sample temperature reached a preselected value. The construction and operating procedure are described in detail. Illustrative examples and data reduction techniques are discussed. © 1969, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
