The use of Wikis in the Teaching / Learning context: an experience with undergraduate students

Wiki is a Web 2.0 tool which use in the teaching / learning context promotes an educational environment where students and teachers can develop resources collaboratively. This work focused on the evaluation of the potential use of Wiki technology in the teaching / learning process and has been carried out in a technological subject at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. Data were obtained through two questionnaires and the analysis of the historic of a Wiki created in the scope of this work. The results revealed that before this study students used wikis only in the consulting mode and not in the edition one. It was found that after the experiment most of the students did not found learning and using Wikis difficult and considered the tool useful for their learning.
