摘要
Lignin, when dissolved in 1M NaOH and subjected to an anodic potential of 0.8V vs saturated calomel electrode (SCE), resulted in depolarization of the anode. Pure hydrogen gas observed to evolve with high coulometric efficiency at the cathode. The influence of the applied potential and temperature on the rate of reaction was also investigated. The major aqueous phase products were identified as substituted benzaldehydes.
