摘要
The main characteristics of malpositions of the esophagogastric junction (chalasia or gaping cardia, hiatus hernia with transitory epiphrenic loculation, hiatus hernia with fixed epiphrenic pouch, upside-down stomach, see Fig. 1) are gastro-esophageal reflux and secondary peptic esophagitis. Therefore, the essential aim of treatment is to prevent gastroesophageal reflux before it has caused irreversible damage. The best reflux preventing operation in our hands is transabdominal fundoplication.1-6. © 1969.
