摘要
The infrared spectra of benzimidazole and some of its metal complexes were obtained from 4000 to 33 cm-1. The bands in benzimidazole are tentatively assigned by comparisons with spectra of 1,2 d2-benzimidazole, the metal complexes, N-iodobenzimidazole and other aromatic and heteroaromatic systems. A complete normal coordinate calculation was carried out on benzimidazole, and the metal-nitrogen interactions in the polymer complexes were studied as five body problems. For comparison, five body calculations were also studied for the metal complexes of Imidazole. © 1968.
