A FAST, ACCURATE, AND EFFICIENT METHOD FOR POLE EXTRACTION IN MICROSTRIP PROBLEMS

摘要
In this article, a fast and novel method is proposed to determine accurately and efficiently the singularity due to the surface wave as found in the electric field integral equation. The method involves a simple reorganization of the classical expressions for both the transverse electric (D(TE)) and the transverse magnetic surface wave modes (D(TM)) into some piecewise linear forms suitable for the Newton-Raphson algorithm. Extensive numerical comparison is made with some of the classical methods used for pole extraction. The numerical results, as presented, confirm efficiency and fast quadratic convergence.
