Five glycopeptides and two glycosaminoglycans were obtained from the protease-digested human cerumen. Separation of these seven polymers was achieved by stepwise elution from DEAE-cellulose with increasing concentration of NaCl. All the isolated glycopeptide preparations contained galactose, glucose, mannose, fucose, glucosamine, galactosamine, sialic acid, and peptide. Sulfate was found in both fractions 0.2 and 0.45 m NaCl, and uronic acid in fraction 0.45 m in addition to the above constituents. © 1979.
