RESPONSE OF TYPE-II SUPERCONDUCTORS TO MAGNETIC-FIELDS VARYING IN INTENSITY AND DIRECTION - MODEL OF NONROTATING VORTICES - INFINITE SLAB GEOMETRY

摘要
The evolution of the longitudinal and transverse components of the magnetic induction in a long and wide ribbon of a type II superconductor subjected to a magnetic field directed along the plane of the ribbon and varying in intensity while changing orientation is investigated in the framework that vortices, after nucleation, do not rotate during displacements inside the material. The model is pursued for a variety of initial configurations of the magnetic induction and applied to hysteretic materials encompassing a broad spectrum of pinning behavior and also to the force free (no pinning) case. The predictions of the model are compared with an extensive series of observations on a ribbon of VTi.
