The paper proposes the Interacting Stoner-Wohlfarth Particles System (ISWPS) model that could be used to characterize magnetic recording media. The particles of the system are distributed as a function of orientation, anisotropy and interaction fields. Using these distributions and the Stoner-Wohlfarth theory for the isolated particle hysteresis loop one can calculate an equivalent distribution of pseudo-particles each of which characterizes the average behavior of an ensemble of particles from the sample with the same critical and interaction fields. The classical Preisach distribution is replaced with a distribution of Stoner-Wohlfarth pseudo-particles with known hysteresis loops. The agreement between the experimental data obtained for a BASF magnetic computer tape ind the results of the simulations is good.
