Superconductivity has been detected in the Ca-based 2-1-2-6 compound La2-x(Ca1-ySry)1+xCu2O6-x/2+δ and the relationship between crystal structure and superconducting properties is investigated by varying x, y, and O2 pressure during synthesis. It is shown that the lattice parameter a is restricted to between 3.823 and 3.826 Å for the superconducting material, irrespective of x, y, and O2 pressure. For a fixed Sr content y, the smaller a is, the higher the Tc is obtained. On the other hand, lattice parameter c has no clear correlation with superconductivity. © 1990 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
