摘要
On this paper the analysis goes over the poetry of Manoel de Barros and Hilda Hilst under the focus of the topic of life and death, taking account of the use of the word both in the poems construction and the subjectivity of the poet on the work, starting from the materiality and the search for comprehension of the meaning of the being existence, either by the finitude and continuality of this nature cycle, or by bringing together in it divine and human characters, going through the body - its fragility, deterioration, oldness - to reach the sublime. Thus, love is seen as an element which consists of life and death, like a cycle, that starts and finishes and may so literarily cover the human experience. Along the poetic composition of both poets, death is transmutation, therefore, another life and, since "no one is the father of a poem but when one is dead," death is new life not only of the being, but of literature, for MB and HH print on this, through the critical character of their works, a constant inquire on the literary production.
