摘要
A one-dimensional model is presented for the surface tension-driven leveling of a viscoelastic film. Lubrication-type arguments are made to reduce the partial differential equations to one spatial dimension. The predictions of the model compare well with the complete two-dimensional solution when the film thickness is small compared to the disturbance length scale. Numerical difficulties are not encountered at high Deborah numbers. The model duplicates the linear analysis for small film disturbances.
