The title monomer was polymerized via free radical initiation. The polymerization proved very rapid, yielding quantitative conversion in similar to 5-10 min. Most of the polymer proved to be insoluble in any solvent tried, but good quality H-1-NMR and C-13-NMR spectra could be obtained from the soluble fraction. The soluble fraction of the polymer proved to have an atactic stereochemistry.
