SYNTHESIS OF SOME 2-HETEROCYCLYL-5-NITROTHIAZOLES AS POTENTIAL ANTHELMINTICS

摘要
Three series of 5-nitrothiazoles, namely 2-(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-l-yl)-5-nitrothiazoles (I), 2-(5-amino-3-arylpyrazol-l-yl-5-nitrothiazoles (II) and 2-(5-nitrothiazol-2-yl)-6-aryl-4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinones (III) and their 4-methyl analogues have been synthesized as potential anthelmintics by treatment of 2-hydrazino-5-nitrothiazoles with pentane-2,4-diones, alpha-cyanoacetophenones and beta-aroylpropionic acids, respectively. None of the nine selected compounds tested shows any significant activity against N. brasiliensis and H. nana in mice at 250 mg/kg x 3 days. Some of the compounds, however, show high antifungal activity.
