摘要：

The rheological behavior of pitch precursors is important in modern processing methods for engineering carbon materials such as composites and fibers. Precursors may be isotropic or liquid crystalline, single or biphase, with the second phase solid or liquid at processing temperatures. The glassy nature of these precursors is discussed, and it is emphasized that the glass transition temperature is an important characteristic parameter affecting the dependence of viscosity on temperature.
