摘要
A 58-year-old patient presented with an area of exposed bone after extraction of two teeth from the lower jaw. The patient had a history of intravenous bisphosphonate intake for treatment of an osseous manifestation of histiocytosis X. Despite repeated superficial bone debridement of the bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis, partial resection of the mandible was inevitable. Preoperative computer-assisted virtual planning allowed precise partial resection of the mandible and accurate primary reconstruction with a vascularized iliac crest bone graft.
