摘要：

The dependence of the amplitude of a transverse-mode echo signal on the radial clearance in riveted aircraft joints is determined. The error of ultrasonic radial clearance measurements is estimated. The concept of the threshold level for ultrasonic inspection of radial clearance is introduced.
