Absolute line intensities from the ν2 fundamental vibration-rotation band of 12CH3D were measured using an infrared tunable diode laser spectrometer. Selected P- and R-branch lines were studied in the spectral region from 2170 to 2235 cm-1. A squared vibrational transition dipole matrix element was determined to be (8.427 ± 0.220) × 10-4 (debye)2 based upon these measured line intensities. Also, an estimate of the ν2 band intensity of 19.2 (cm-1/cm-atm) was obtained at a temperature of 297.4 K. These parameters compared favorably with previously determined values. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
