摘要
Samples of the layer of materials adhering to a blast furnace lining at four levels in the furnace and three distances through the layer thickness have been studied, particularly with respect to melting and softening. Melting and softening temperatures at all levels were found to increase with increasing distance from the coolers towards the working surface, the highest melting material being found in the middle part of the stack. The main requirements for maintaining stable furnace working lines are steady gas flow and working, constant vertical and radial temperature gradients and charging conditions, few slag regime changes, absence of plugged tuyeres, uniform tuyere working around the furnace, strict control of casting sequences through the various notches, and few interruptions of steady blowing.
