摘要
Amorphous TbFeCo films have been manufactured with a rotating substrate, multi-target, dc magnetron cosputtering process. The light rare earth praseodymium (Pr) has been doped into these TbFeCo alloys in an attempt to increase the intrinsic polar Kerr rotation. Magneto-optical measurements however, indicate a degradation of the Kerr rotation with Pr content in the new alloys. The deterioration of the magnetic properties, the coercivity, the squareness of the hysteresis loop shape and the perpendicular anisotropy are also shown to be a result of Pr substitution.
