摘要
The mechanism of the tussive action of 1,1-dimethyl-4-phenylpiperazinium iodide (DMPP) was investigated in terms of the sensory, central coordinating and motor components of the cough reflex. DMPP was found to evoke cough by an action on the afferent limb involving chemoreceptors of the carotid and possibly pulmonary areas. The tussive response to DMPP appeared to be unrelated to its classical action on autonomic ganglia. © 1969.
