A DWBA ANALYSIS OF (P,D) REACTIONS ON LIGHT NUCLEI AT 156 MEV

The experimental data of the previous paper1) are here analysed using the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA). Deuteron optical potentials are found by re-analysing some early elastic deuteron scatteing data at high energies. Various choices of prescriptions for the form factor of the transferred neutron are investigated, and it is concluded that a greater sensitivity to these form factors is obtained at lower energies that the 156 MeV of the present work. The spectroscopic factors obtained by normalising the DWBA to experiment are in good agreement with the shell model calculations of Cohen and Kurath. However these factors show systematic variations from the plane wave analysis given in the previous paper due to the strong Q-value dependence exhibited by the DWBA calculations. © 1969.
