Definition of the term ''recycling'' and technical dimensions. Recycling in the steel industry. Regulations for the management of residues and waste disposal. Reduction of the amount of waste materials: description of the development in recent years illustrated by the examples of blast-furnace slag, steelmaking slag, dust and sludge as well as plant scrap. By-products and recovery of secondary raw materials: metallic slag, dust and sludge as well as scrap.
