INTERACTION BETWEEN IN-111 ATOMS AND IMPURITY ATOMS OF NI AND RH DISSOLVED IN SILVER

Perturbed angular correlation measurements are performed with In-111 in dilute binary alloys of Ag with Ni and Rh impurities. It is demonstrated that In atoms attract these impurities and the binding energy for In Ni and In Rh pairs in the silver matrix is determined. Besides the solute atoms of Ni and Rh the precipitates of these two elements are also observed in the alloys. It is possible to estimate the solid solubility limit for Ni and Rh in Ag.
