X-RAY K-ABSORPTION EDGE IN SOME COBALT COMPOUNDS

The X-ray K-absorption edges of cobalt in some thiourea complexes and simple compounds have been experimentally investigated using a 40 cm transmission-type bent crystal spectrograph employing a mica crystal. The spectral features have been discussed in terms of the effective nuclear charge on the cobalt ion, the covalent character of the bond, and the molecular symmetry of compounds. © 1979 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
