The relation between the manufacturing accuracy and the quality of the industrial product in conditions of the transition from the classic to the new industrial production is analysed. The Taguchi approach to the assurance of the product quality is presented, as well as the importance of the production quantity in creating the technical possibilities for the transition from the control of the product properties to the control of the manufacturing process parameters. The elements of the new production philosophy and their influence to the development of quality assurance and the human role in it are given.
