摘要
Computer graphics nowadays covers a large number of quite different subjects and techniques. Moreover, these techniques are applied within a large variety of application domains. Not surprisingly, many of these subjects also appear prominently in courses taught by other disciplines. This has brought us, from a computer science point of view, to specialize on three sub-themes: rendering (3-D computer graphics), scientific visualization, and geometric modeling. These topics are taught in three advanced courses, where we try to keep a good balance in the attention for the basic physical phenomena (light reflection, digital sampling), their embedding in efficient geometric algorithms and data structures, and their implementation in graphics programs and systems.
