摘要
The purpose of this review article is to set the factors involved in central nervous system tumors drug resistance in a context, more specifically those involving medulloblastoma and the resistance it generates against the drug cyclophosphamide. One central aspect is hypoxia, which is linked to apoptosis evasion, which is a "hallmark" of cancer - a term used in the reference paper written by researchers Hanahan Et Weinberg (2011). Protein activity of some aldehyde dehydrogenases and cytochromes P450 are the elements that have allowed for the metabolic environment of solid tumors to be understood and, hence, the way the phenomenon of drug resistance is generated. The potential use of the aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 isoform as a tumor marker is demonstrated, endorsed by studies described in the body of this article. (C) 2015, Sociedad Mexicana de Oncologia.
