摘要
In general, water channeling in high permeability and fracture zones, is a problem durig waterflooding process in heterogeneous reservoirs. Currently, there is a possible solution to this problem. It consists in altering the permeability in channeled zones in order to deviate the injection fluid toward less permeability zones of the reservoir, in which the water has not achieved an efficient work and have high oil saturation yet. This type of modification of the permeability in the reservoir is achieved after gel injection processes. These have been originated in polymeric solutions and have been developed from chemical reactions that generate precipitation processes. This article presents an analysis of the gel injection, based on the generalities of the process, their behavior in reservoirs with crossflow and without it, and the effect of certain properties on the efficiency of this process. This study will analyze parameters such as gel penetration distance, its response in fractured and not fractured reservoirs, and the effect of the presence of cross flow between layers of the reservoir.
