摘要
A compact analytical formula giving all nonexpanded multipoles for the induction energy between neutral spherical atoms in S-states has been derived following a method previously proposed for the dispersion interaction and assuming a STO representation for the transition amplitudes. The screening of the nuclear charge by the electron cloud is taken into account from the beginning, thereby eliminating the poles in the Fourier-transform of the densities which are responsible for the long-range interactions. © 1979.
