摘要：

The response of PAI-1 to a high-caloric carbohydrate meal was studied in two groups of healthy volunteers: 10 younger, lean and 11 middle-aged obese individuals. Both groups underwent a 4 hr morning observation period under two different conditions - with a carbohydrate load and fast. In both groups a significant meal-related peak in PAI activity occurred between 60 and 120 min, being of approximately the same magnitude in both groups. PAI antigen showed a plateau after the meal instead of a fall during fast. The obese group displayed much higher basal levels of PAI activity and also antigen, insulin and triglycerides, as well as insulin and glucose levels after the meal. © 1990.
