DETERMINATION OF SPIN ARRANGEMENTS IN MAGNETIC-MATERIALS BY MEANS OF MOSSBAUER-SPECTROSCOPY USING POLARIZED GAMMA-RAYS

摘要
In many magnetic materials it is a good approximation to say that the nuclei of magnetic atoms are subject to axial magnetic fields, and one topic of investigation is to determine the distribution in orientation of these axes. Formulae are given which enable the intensities of **5**7Fe Moessbauer lines to be calculated in terms of the polarization of the incident gamma -rays and parameters which characterize the distribution of the axes of the internal magnetic fields acting on the **5**7Fe nuclei in a magnetically ordered absorber.
