This paper elaborates the principle of servant leadership and responds to several issues related to such concept of leadership. What is the leader's role in today's society? What is the difference between a manager and a leader? How many kinds of leaders are there? Is the concept of servant leadership sustainable? Which characteristics must a modern leader possess? The paper discusses the various aspects of a leader and a servant leader. It also examines the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of approach and its alternatives.
