摘要
In its attempt to respond to changing historical realities the university has undergone significant transformations, most of which, however, have focused on teaching material, tools, methods or practices adapted to the new demands. Taking as a case study the literary disciplines, this article focuses on the theoretical, mostly implicit, presuppositions that often underlie attempts at institutional innovations. To put the educational process at the center of attention has often meant that a certain view of the epistemic object itself has been largely presupposed; this article attempts to unearth an unquestioned essentialism of the object, by showing how this has, to an extent, been constituted against a certain relativism of the processes that create it. Indeed, the educational setting and its space carry a set of implications for the object of study - that is, literature - that should not remain unaddressed.
