摘要
A perspective on the synthesis, structure and reactivity of the mu-eta2:eta2-peroxo dinuclear copper(II) complexes [{Cu[HB(3,5-R2C3HN2)3]}2(O2)] (R = Me, Ph or Pr(i)) is presented. Their biological relevance to haemocyanin and tyrosinase that bind dioxygen as peroxide at the dinuclear copper site is demonstrated. The possibility of involvement of this particular co-ordination mode of peroxide in other biological systems is also discussed.
