摘要
The effect of surface-active agents on gas hold up was studied during the diffusion controlled dissolution of copper spheres in acidified dichromate solution. Variables studied were, nitrogen flow rate, type and concentration of surfactant and physical properties of the solution. Increasing both superficial gas velocity and concentration of surfactant were found to increase the gas hold up in the order: mixed agent of anionic and non-ionic < non-ionic agent < cationic agent. On the other hand, increasing kinematic viscosity of the solution was found to decrease the gas hold up in the order: cationic agent > non-ionic agent- > mixed agent of anionic and non-ionic.
