摘要
With the 2009 version of the German Diagnosis Related Groups (G-DRG), the G-DRG catalog's annual adjustment has been completed and represents for the first time the exclusive basis for all hospital reimbursements in Germany. Changes in the G-DRG algorithm for the year 2009 are therefore of special interest and are described in this article with a focus on cardiac surgery. In summary, the G-DRG system has developed increasing stability in recent years. Thus, only small changes in the G-DRG algorithms, which are not obvious at first sight, have been implemented. However, since cardiac surgery departments have substantial revenues, but which are Aso confronted by high costs, even small adjustments can have a relevant impact on economic outcome. Besides content-related changes in the G-DRG algorithm, this article describes the technical changes of the system and points out relevant implications for practice and reimbursement.
