摘要
Introduction: Nosocomial infections have been one of the recent century's problems and wound infection is among important complications of post-surgery. No doubt, prevention is the most appropriate method of infection control and surgical staff can prevent infection of the surgical site by complying with sterility principles when washing hands, wearing a gown and gloves during and after surgery. So, the aim of this study is to evaluate the level of sterility compliance and its related instructions in the operating room by the operating room staff. Method: This is a cross-sectional study. Samples were selected by the census method. In this study, all operating room personnel were studied. Data collection tools are a checklist that is composed of two main parts and included questions on different aspects of infection control standards before, during and after surgery. After having been collected, the data were entered the SPSS software and after scoring each option chosen by the subjects, the total score was calculated for each individual. Results: Of the personnel participating in this survey, 65.3 percent of them were men and 34.7% were women. Of these people, 52.9% had a bachelor's degree and 24.6 percent had a PhD, 21.5 percent had an associate degreeand only 0.8 percent had a master's degree. According to the Mann-Whitney test, there is a significant difference between men and women in terms of compliance with sterilityand its related instructions of the operating room in the scrub (p-value < 0.05) while there is no significant difference the rest of procedures (p-value> 0.05). According to the Pearson correlation coefficient, there was a significant relationship between age and the scrubbing action, between age and preoperative measures, and between age and intraoperative measures (p-value < 0.05). There is direct and positive relationship between age and actions to scrub and preoperative measureswhile the relationship between age and intraoperative measures is inverse and negative. There is a significant and straightforward relationship just between the history and practices related to scrubbing (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: The results showed that the performance of personnel in infection control in training hospitals is appropriate.
